Skincare Routines Have You Unsure? Here is a simple one!


Having bad skin is not always a genetic curse. Left to its own devices your face’s skin most likely will not do the things you want it to. This can lead to frustration as you see other women with clear skin.


But those women likely have a skincare routine and so should you. It is also important to remember that a skincare routine is not about achieving perfection. Rather it is about creating the healthiest skin possible. And in return, it will look its best.


And your skincare routine will have to change with age and with the season. So do not become frustrated if you notice that your skincare routine is no longer working. That is ok. Our bodies change. Our routines and products must change with them.

This is the most basic and foundational step in your skincare routine. Wash your face 2x daily, am and pm. This is critical to keep clean skin and unclogged pores.


When purchasing a cleanser, be sure to pick one intended for your type of skin. There is a significant difference between oily and dry skin.


Exfoliating is an important part of the skincare routine and is usually done during the cleansing stage; however, an exfoliating soap is rarely meant for daily use. Also, avoid exfoliators with abrasive contents like walnut shells.


Toning

Applying toner to your skin should be done after washing your face. Just pour into your hands and wipe all over your face. No need for any fancy application tools. In fact, those might just absorb your product and lead to waste.


Toners are no longer alcohol heavy astringents. They have modernized as we have learned about our skin. Now they are filled with nutrients that skin needs.


When purchasing a toner you can look for these ingredients alpha and beta hydroxy acids, hyaluronic acid, rose water and green tea, vitamin E and C..


Moisturizing

Moisturizer helps the skin keep moisture in. Moisturizing should be done year-round and it becomes more important as we age because our skin loses its natural ability to keep moisture. And while cleansing is also important, it can strip our faces of the oils we need making moisturizing necessary.


Moisturizing requires you to know what type of skin you have in order to purchase the best product.


Buying one with an SPF will help protect your skin and keep it from aging. You may want to consider buying a nighttime moisturizer and a daytime moisturizer. At night, you do not need SPF but something that repairs and revitalizes your skin is nice.
